Operator
The Inflameter service at inflameter.com (the "Service") is a project operated under license by:
Lebwerte
Website: lebwerte.com
Contact for legal matters: legal@inflameter.com
Depending on the operator's jurisdiction, additional mandatory imprint details (registered address, company registration number, VAT ID, responsible person) may be legally required and should be inserted here before public launch.
Terms of Use
1. Acceptance
By accessing or using the Service you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service. The operator may update these Terms at any time; the current version is always published on this page, and continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
2. Purpose of the Service
The Service presents publicly available macroeconomic statistics — in particular consumer-price inflation figures — in visual and simplified form, together with generic calculators, solely for general information and education. The Service does not take your personal circumstances into account and does not create any advisory, fiduciary, contractual or professional relationship between you and the operator.
3. No advice
Nothing on the Service constitutes financial, investment, banking, accounting, legal or tax advice, an offer, a solicitation, or a recommendation to buy, sell or hold any asset, or to take or refrain from any financial decision. Before making any decision, consult the original official statistics and, where appropriate, a qualified professional adviser.
4. Third-party data; no warranty
All statistics displayed originate from third-party sources (see Data & Licensing). The operator does not create, audit or verify this data and passes it on unchanged apart from technical processing, formatting, rounding, averaging of sources where the user selects it, and plain-language descriptions. The Service, including all data, texts, calculators and visualisations, is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including without limitation warranties of accuracy, completeness, timeliness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Data may be delayed, revised by its publishers, incomplete for some countries or periods, or affected by processing errors. Forecast values are inherently uncertain estimates and will differ from actual outcomes.
5. Availability
The operator does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability of the Service and may change, suspend or discontinue the Service or any feature at any time without notice.
6. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the operator, its licensors and its suppliers shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, savings, data, goodwill or opportunity, arising out of or in connection with the use of, reliance on, or inability to use the Service or any data displayed on it, regardless of the legal theory and even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Where liability cannot be excluded by law — for example for intent, gross negligence, or injury to life, body or health where such exclusions are not permitted — it remains unaffected to that mandatory extent, and any remaining liability is limited to the foreseeable, typical damage.
7. Your use
You agree to use the Service lawfully, not to disrupt or overload it, not to misrepresent its content as official statistics of any institution, and not to remove or obscure source attributions when sharing or reusing content where attribution is required by the underlying data licenses.
8. Intellectual property
The design, texts, plain-language descriptions and code of the Service are the property of the operator or its licensors. Underlying statistical data remains subject to the licenses of its publishers (see Data & Licensing); nothing in these Terms restricts rights granted to you directly by those licenses.
9. External links
The Service links to external websites. The operator has no control over and accepts no responsibility for their content.
10. Severability & governing law
If any provision of these Terms is held invalid, the remaining provisions remain in effect. These Terms are governed by the law of the operator's registered seat, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and subject to any mandatory consumer-protection provisions of your country of residence.
Disclaimer
- Not advice. The Service is information and education only — never financial, investment, legal or tax advice.
- Official figures may differ. Displayed values come from international statistical sources and may differ from figures published by national statistical offices, and may be revised by their publishers at any time.
- Your personal inflation differs. Consumer-price indices describe an average basket. Your own cost of living depends on what you buy, where you live and how you spend, and can be materially higher or lower than any figure shown.
- Forecasts are estimates. Values labelled as forecasts (IMF World Economic Outlook) are projections that will differ from actual outcomes, potentially significantly.
- Calculators are simplifications. The calculators assume constant rates and ignore taxes, interest, fees and compounding nuances. They illustrate direction, not precise outcomes.
- Errors are possible. Despite care, data transmission, processing or display errors can occur. Verify anything important with the original sources linked below before acting on it.
Data & Licensing
The Service displays data from the following publishers, unchanged apart from technical processing, and in compliance with their terms:
- World Bank Open Data — indicator FP.CPI.TOTL.ZG (inflation, consumer prices, annual %), sourced by the World Bank from the IMF International Financial Statistics. License: Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0). Source: data.worldbank.org.
- International Monetary Fund — World Economic Outlook, indicator PCPIPCH (inflation, average consumer prices, annual % change), including forecast years, via the IMF DataMapper API. © IMF. Source: imf.org/external/datamapper.
- Eurostat — HICP monthly annual rate of change (prc_hicp_manr) for European countries. © European Union; reuse permitted with acknowledgement. Source: ec.europa.eu/eurostat.
- Natural Earth — public-domain map geometry, via the world-atlas project.
The "Average" display option shows the arithmetic mean of the World Bank and IMF values where both exist; it is a presentation choice of the Service, not a figure published by either institution.
Privacy Notice
The short version
Inflameter has no accounts, no ads, no tracking cookies and no analytics scripts. We do not collect, store or sell personal data. Your country is guessed locally in your browser (from its language settings) and never transmitted anywhere.
What technically happens when you use the Service
- Hosting. When you open the site, our hosting provider technically processes your IP address and standard request metadata to deliver the pages and defend against abuse (legal basis under GDPR: legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f)). Standard server logs, where kept, are short-lived.
- Data APIs. Your browser requests statistics directly from the World Bank, the IMF and Eurostat, and map geometry and libraries from content delivery networks (jsDelivr/unpkg, cdnjs). These providers therefore see your IP address as part of the technical request, under their own privacy policies.
- Fonts. Web fonts are currently loaded from Google Fonts, which involves a request to Google servers. For EU visitors the operator intends to self-host fonts in production so that no request to Google occurs.
- Country detection. Happens entirely inside your browser using its language/timezone settings. Nothing is sent to us. You can change the selected country at any time.
- Cookies & storage. The Service itself sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device.
Your rights (EU/EEA visitors)
Under the GDPR you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and data portability regarding personal data, and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Because the Service does not maintain any database of personal data, most requests will be answerable immediately by that fact. Contact: legal@inflameter.com.
Children
The Service is a general-audience statistics site and does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children.
